About GMSC: The mission of GMSC is to transform the lives of young people through education and service activities that improve our communities and strengthen our local workforce. Founded in 1990, GMSC provides a venue away from the negative alternatives young people face when they are idle and feel there are no positiveopportunities available to them. The majority of young people served through the program come seeking a second chance to succeed in life. In return for their efforts, members receive guidance by adult mentors and role models, a modest stipend and a wide range of development services that include significant educational opportunities, employment and training, life skills development and the opportunity to invest in their communities.
