Work off your Thanksgiving dinner at a Miami-Dade Park

MIAMI (November 22, 2017)

Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department invite you to explore one of Miami-Dade’s 270 parks, six golf courses, beaches, and attractions this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Work off those extra calories at one of more than 20 Fitness Zone areas. These free outdoor gyms offer strength-training equipment that’s easy to use and ADA accessible. While parents are burning off calories, the kids can be burning off steam at a nearby playground.

Families are invited to grab their leftovers and a blanket and enjoy the beautiful weather at Crandon Park or Haulover Park beaches. For the golfer, be sure to book your tee time early. However you spend this holiday weekend, make sure to include a visit to a Miami-Dade Park. Visit to find a park new you.

Miami-Dade Parks will be open sun up through sun down from Thursday, November 23, through Sunday, November 26, 2017.

Miami-Dade Parks is the third largest county park system in the United States, consisting of 270 parks and 13,573 acres of land. It is one of the most unique park and recreation systems in the world. The non-profit Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade supports Miami-Dade Parks’ efforts to further develop Miami-Dade County’s world-class parks system for residents and visitors.
