Celebrate Water! The Miami River Film at the Deering Estate
Celebrate Water! The Miami River Film, hosted by Upper Room Art Gallery, will be presented at the Deering Estate on Wednesday, December 6th at 7:00 pm. The film viewing is free and open to the public.
The documentary is part of the American Rivers film series from Oscar-nominated filmmaker Katja Esson. The series was produced for the ARTE channel of Europe. Opening remarks will be provided by Miami Dade County Commissioner Daniella Levine Cava. Samuel Tommie of the Seminole Tribe will peform his flute and talk about the spiritual aspects of Water. The Florida Producer of the film, Robin Haines Merrill, will introduce and give a background on the film. Filmmaker and Director Katja Esson will be present for Q & A with the audience after the film. Complimentary LaCroix Sparkling Water will be served. Seating is limited.
