Miami-Dade Parks' Oak Grove Park kicks-off Meet Me at the Park series
To encourage neighbors to get outside, meet one another, and connect to parks, Oak Grove Park, located at 690 NE 159 Street, Miami, FL 33162, will kick-off Miami-Dade Parks’ Meet Me at the Park series on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 am. The series was launched in 2016 as a way to engage residents with their community park and for a chance for neighbors to meet each other in a friendly atmosphere.
The Meet Me at the Park series promotes walking or riding bike to the park for an organized activity, and for a chance to meet park staff. “Miami-Dade Park’s vision is to connect people to parks for life,” Maria I. Nardi, director of Miami-Dade Parks shared. “This series is at the very core of that. By getting residents to open their doors and walk to their neighborhood park they not only connect with each other, but to park staff all while enjoying a free activity - it’s a down home, family feeling type of experience for people of all ages and abilities.”
The Oak Grove Park Meet Me at the Park series presents, “R.E.D. for Women’s Health” where participants will run/walk/move, learn healthy eating habits and receive smoking cessation initiatives and patches. The program is open to everyone.
