Miami-Dade County releases 2018 transit holiday schedule
The Department of Transportation and Public Works wishes its transit riders a joyous holiday season as it announces its 2018 holiday schedule for Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover.
On Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a Sunday schedule. This means that weekday-only routes, such as the I-95 Dade-Broward Express and the I-95 Express going to Golden Glades, will not be providing service on Dec. 25.
On Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
Those attending celebrations in downtown Miami should note that after 8 p.m. on Monday, Metrorail will have a 15-minute service frequency between the Dadeland South and Earlington Heights stations and a 30-minute service frequency between the Palmetto and Earlington Heights stations. This service will be extended until 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
It also important to note that the last northbound and southbound trains will depart from the Government Center Station at approximately 2 a.m. All Metrorail stations will close promptly at 2 a.m. and entry to Metrorail stations will not be allowed after that time.
Metromover service also will be extended until approximately 2 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Parking facilities at Metrorail stations will remain open through the following day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, until 3 a.m.
On Tuesday, Jan. 1, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a Sunday schedule. This means that weekday-only bus routes, such as the I-95 Dade-Broward Express and the I-95 Express going to Golden Glades, will not be providing service on Jan. 1.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: On Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, all DTPW administrative offices, including those for Golden Passport, Lost and Found, and Special Transportation Service (STS), will be closed in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day, respectively. However, STS customers can still call the STS reservation number at 305-871-1111 to reserve or cancel an STS trip.
