Score a home run on your ride to Marlins Park
Starting tomorrow, March 28, 2019, baseball fans can take Metrobus to Marlins Park for less than the price of a hot dog and a drink.
Baseball aficionados headed to any of the Marlins’ home games can catch seasonal Metrobus Route 55 from a new location this year – the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail station.
To get to the park, take either an Orange or Green Line train to the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Station. After exiting the station, walk south to NW Sixth Street and First Avenue to catch a Route 55 bus.
The route begins running 90 minutes before the first pitch and ends 60 minutes after the last out.
“When Marlins fans ride with us, they score a home run with convenience and savings,” said Alice N. Bravo, P.E., Director of the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works.
A one-way ride on Metrorail or Metrobus is $2.25, and transfers are 60 cents each way. A 1-Day Pass, which offers unlimited rides on Metrorail and Metrobus until 2 a.m., is only $5.65.
For more information about Route 55, Marlins fans can visit Miami-Dade Transit’s website.
They can also leave their cars at any Metrorail station with a parking facility and pay only $4.50 per day. To pay for parking, pay at the Metrorail station or via the PayByPhone app.
Miami-Dade Transit also has the EASY Pay Miami app, which allows riders to purchase their fare on their mobile devices. Visit the EASY Pay app page for more information on the app.
Loaded EASY cards and EASY tickets are still accepted at Metrorail fare gates and on Metrobus fareboxes.
