Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2020 holiday waste collection, recycling, and disposal facility schedule

MIAMI ( January 14, 2020 )

The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has released the schedule of services for the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Curbside Waste and Trash Collection Service

DSWM will not collect garbage or trash on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020. DSWM waste collection customers who are regularly serviced on Mondays are asked to not place their green waste carts at the curb that day. Waste collection for Monday customers will take place on their next regularly scheduled collection day, Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020.

Please take into consideration that waste collection on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, may take longer than usual, due to the high volume of waste. Customers are asked to be patient, as crews will work throughout the day until all routes are serviced.

Curbside Recycling Collection Service

Curbside recycling collection service will take place on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, as scheduled. DSWM curbside recycling service customers whose recycling collection day falls on that day are advised to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Jan. 20, 2020.

Disposal Facilities

The following DSWM facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020:

  • All Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers
  • Central, West and Northeast Regional Transfer Stations

The following DSWM facilities will be open on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, and will observe normal operating hours:
