Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources closing Permitting and Inspection Center for 14 days

The Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) will close its Permitting and Inspection Center (PIC) located at 11805 SW 26 Street for 14 days, effective March 25, 2020.

The department has learned that three PIC employees have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total to four. RER is working closely with the Florida Department of Health (DOH) and following their recommendations. All PIC employees have been informed and instructed to self-isolate and self-monitor for 14 days.

All inspections scheduled for tomorrow are canceled, except for new construction inspections by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s New Construction Bureau.

During the closure, online services will be available.

As this is a fluid and evolving situation, service updates will be announced as decisions are made. RER is also working with DOH to implement a new service plan when the PIC reopens in two weeks.
