Deep Dredge Moving Forward
The PortMiami Deep Dredge project will move forward under an agreement reached between Miami-Dade County and representatives of environmental organizations. The Port expects the permitting process to be completed in May allowing the Army Corp of Engineers to put the project out to bid.

PortMiami welcomed Costa Rica's most important Port – Puerto Limon – as they became sister ports during a recent signing ceremony attended by Deputy Port Director Juan Kuryla, Puerto Limon's Chief Executive Allan Hidalgo Campos and Costa Rica's Port Authority delegates.

Smooth sailing ahead More Lines, New Ships Coming

New cruise business is coming to PortMiami in a big way! Three cruise lines – Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises – are bringing new operations here. Also, some of the world's newest cruise vessels will begin arriving this year. These include Carnival BreezeCelebrity Reflection and Oceania Riviera scheduled to begin sailing from PortMiami this winter season. In other big news this month, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that its newest ship, the Norwegian Getaway, will homeport here beginning in 2014 and MSC Cruises said its new build, the MSC Divina, will join PortMiami in 2013.

Volvo Ocean Race Yachts Headed Here

Puma skims the waves during Volvo Ocean Race.PortMiami marks the entrance point for the Volvo Ocean Race coming to Miami May 6-20. Miami is the only North America stopover for the around-the-globe race that puts sailing prowess and human endurance to the test. PortMiami is the sponsor for the in-port portion of the race on May 19, a critical component of the competition when the public can get a view of the action. Learn how you can see the world's most exciting racing yachts during their Miami port of call.

Florida World Trade Month
Florida World Trade MonthFlorida wants to be No. 1 in world trade. That's the message of Florida World Trade Month a collaborative effort spearheaded by Enterprise Florida, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and World Trade Center Miami to increase awareness of international trade and commerce as a powerful economic development tool. During the month of May, dozens of events have been scheduled throughout the state including tours of PortMiami.

Port Director Appointed to Florida's District Export Council

Bryson appointed Port Director Bill Johnson to Florida's District Export Council on March 16 during a ceremony in Miami. District Export Councils are comprised of leaders whose expertise on international trade complement the U.S. Commercial Service's export promotion efforts through counseling on the exporting process, trade education and community outreach.
