Housing Agency accepting  applications for the new 2008 Waiting List
The Miami-Dade Housing Agency will be accepting online applications for low-income families and individuals to be placed on their 2008 waiting list for Section 8 and public housing programs beginning July 1. Unlike previous years, applicants will not be able to complete a paper form. If you know someone who needs help completing the online application, encourage them to visit the community assistance locations  that will be available from July 7-31. Applicants who applied for the 2005 waiting list and were not contacted will have to reapply online

Last week, the House overwhelmingly passed H.R. 6331, the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act. All Democrats present and more than two out of three Republicans voted for the bill, which passed 355-59. However, later in the week, the Senate fell one vote short to move the bill forward.
