Youth Summit on Citizen Diplomacy held April 15 at the Miami-Dade College
The 2nd annual Youth Summit on Citizen Diplomacy took place on April 15, 2008, at the Miami Dade College North Campus, and the Sister Cities program was pleased to once again be a sponsor and contributor to this important event. More than 100 high school students assembled to consider how global forces are shaping tomorrow's employment opportunities, and to be challenged to promote peace through citizen diplomacy. In addition to hearing from a distinguished panel of speakers, students participated in roundtable discussions that were led by college-facilitators from MDC. The Miami Dade County Sister Cities Program is pleased to have worked with our partners at Miami Dade College, the Miami Dade County Public Schools, the Miami Council for International Visitors, and the Casimiro Foundation to expose the students to these timely ideas.
