Miami-Dade Community Action Board of directors meeting scheduled for June 10, 2013

The Miami-Dade Community Action Board of Directors will meet for their June meeting

 

(MIAMI, June 5, 2013) – The Miami-Dade Community Action Board of Directors will hold its regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Overtown Transit Village, 1st Floor Training Room located at 701 NW 1st Court, Miami, FL 33136 in the Historic Overtown community.

Originally, created in 1968 as a result of Federal Equal Opportunity legislation, the forty-five member, tripartite board is mandated by Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) guidelines. The Community Action Board of Directors became an official Board of the County pursuant to Ordinance 09-31.  Under the Ordinance, the Board advises the Board of County Commissioners on efforts to facilitate the reduction in poverty, revitalization of low-income communities and empowerment of low-income families.

These meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend.
