Greater Miami Service Corps to host open house
(MIAMI, May 5, 2015) – As part of Community Action Month, the Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) and the Greater Miami Service Corps (GMSC) will be hosting an open house on Friday, May 8, 2015, from 10 a.m. to noon, at 810 N.W. 28th St., Miami. During the open house, attendees will learn more about GMSC and how its services impact the lives of youth and the community. Attendees will also be able to meet GMSC alumni, including Florida State Rep. Kionne L. McGhee, and hear about the role GMSC has played in their lives.
About GMSC. The mission of GMSC is to transform the lives of young people through education and service activities that improve our communities and strengthen our local workforce. In return for their efforts, members receive guidance by adult leaders who serve as mentors and role models, a modest stipend and a wide range of services that include educational opportunities, employment and training, life skills development and the opportunity to invest in their communities.
