Community Action Agency Board
The Community Action Agency Board is an advisory board to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners regarding the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) programs and other programs administered by the Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) The Boards role is to advise the County on issues and causes of poverty in Miami-Dade County; the reduction of such poverty, and the revitalization of low-income communities by empowering individuals and families to become self-sufficient.
The Board provides guidance and support to the Mayor and the Board of County Commissioners in identifying and helping to reduce the causes of poverty and identifying public and private resources at the local, state, and federal levels to promote self-sufficiency, family stability and community revitalization for economically disadvantaged persons.
The Community Action Agency Board of Directors is a 45 member tripartite board.
