Home Repair Program

This partnership between Community Action and Human Services and Public Housing and Community Development provides for repairs and upgrades in owner occupied low- to moderate-income single-family homes. These improvements are primarily geared to addressing health and safety issues, code violations; and includes roof repairs, plumbing and electrical as well as associated repairs and exterior painting.

These departments work together to identify areas within Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Areas (NRSAs) demonstrating the most need.  All efforts are designed to maintain the stock of affordable low-income housing and to provide families with a better place to live.

As part of our commitment to serving the low-income community, neighborhood revitalization is a strong area of interest. Community Action and Human Services has always been involved in community and economical development (CED) activities such as affordable housing, job training and creation, community revitalization, micro enterprise and small business activities, and infrastructure development. We are seen as the major catalysts in not just creating economic opportunities but enhancing the quality of life for low-income individuals in many impoverished neighborhoods.
