Community Action and Human Services Department announces Summer Food Service Program

(MIAMI, June 4, 2015) – Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program during the months of June, July and August at sites located throughout Miami-Dade County, listed below.

The Summer Food Service Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides free nutritionally balanced meals to children during summer vacation when school breakfasts and lunches are not available.  The program will operate from June 8, 2015 through August 21, 2015.  Nutritious meals will be provided to children 18 years and younger regardless of income, race, color, sex, disability, age or national origin.  Program sites are located in geographical areas where 50 percent or more of the children qualify for free and reduced price meals during the school year.
