Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management Christmas Day 2014 holiday waste collection, recycling and disposal facility schedule

(MIAMI, December 4, 2014) – The Miami-Dade County Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) has released the schedule of services for the upcoming Christmas Day holiday.

Curbside Waste and Trash Collection Service

PWWM will not be collecting waste or trash on Thursday, December 25, 2014.  Miami-Dade waste collection customers who are serviced on Thursdays are asked NOT to place their green waste carts at the curb that day.  Waste collection for these customers will take place on their next regularly scheduled collection day, Monday, December 29, 2014.  Customers are reminded to place their green waste carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on December 29.  Please note waste collection on Monday, December 29, 2014, may take place later than customers are used to, due to the high volume of waste.  Residents can be assured that all waste will be picked up December 29 and are kindly asked to remain patient as crews work throughout the day until all routes are serviced.

Curbside Recycling Collection Service

There will not be any curbside collection of recyclable materials on Thursday, December 25, 2014.  Miami-Dade curbside recycling service customers whose recycling collection day falls on that day will instead have their recyclables collected on Saturday, December 27, 2014.  Only recycling service will be provided that day.  Customers affected by this one-time only change in service are reminded to place their blue recycling carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014. 

Disposal Facilities; Home Chemical Collection Centers

All of the PWWM’s disposal facilities, including the Neighborhood Trash and Recycling Centers, the Landfills, the Resources Recovery Facility, the Transfer Stations and the Home Chemical Collection Centers, will be CLOSED on Thursday, December 25, 2014. 

Administrative Offices

The PWWM’s administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2014.
