This year’s goal is to increase blood donor participation and surpass last year’s level.  Donated blood plays a critical role in surgery and emergency care.  A unit of blood donated by you could save as many as three lives. Demand for blood products has risen as programs such as liver transplant and severe trauma programs have grown, leading to drops in the blood supply several times each year.

Giving blood takes so little of our time and effort, but it can literally save a life," said Luis Vargas, Regional Coordinator.  "There are very few of our day-to-day actions we can say that about, so taking time out of our day for the blood drive and health benefits informational is important."
