Miami-Dade County makes top 10 - U.S. Counties Leading the Way with Open Government, Open Source and Data-Driven Tools


Digital Counties Survey

(MIAMI, September 23, 2014) - In the recent annual survey conducted by the Center for Digital Government’s (CDG), in partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACO), Miami-Dade County took 9th place nationwide for “Leading the Way with Open Government, Open Source and Data-Driven Tools”. The survey recognizes the leading examples of U.S counties using technology as a means of improving services while increasing effectiveness. This year’s winners proactively addressed their dedication to the rapidly changing citizen demands and outlook as commented by the Executive Director of the Center for Digital Government, Todd Sander.

Miami-Dade County’s Information Technology Department was recognized in the category of 800,000 or more population, "recognizing best practices and effective use of technology to serve their communities."
