Service Improvement Plan for Information Technology

Miami Dade County’s Information Technology Department is working on a strategic initiative to improve the overall delivery of technology services. The department has put together a Service Improvement Plan for Information Technology (SIP-IT) with five major focus areas; areas that address some of the challenges it faces today.

2. Communications
3. Governance
4. Communities of Interest
5. Business Process Re-engineering and Standardization

ITD provides technology services that enable and support county operations, external governmental agencies, and the residents of Miami-Dade County.  The department’s objective is to change its precepts of being a service provider to a business partner. In order to accomplish this change, it requires reinforcement in business relationships and improvement of customer service deliverables with other county departments. The SIP – IT plan, is the first step in making this happen.
