New Bus Service to Be Inaugurated In Brownsville

 


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
A new bus service,  the Brownsville Circulator (Route 254), offers Brownsville residents convenient bus service to popular destinations, such as the Joseph Caleb Center, Jefferson Reaves Park, and the Brownsville Metrorail station. Each one-way trip costs only 25 cents.

Minibuses run weekdays, approximately every 30 minutes, from 9:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The route, which is wheelchair and bicycle accessible, offers an easy connection to other bus routes and the Metrorail system at the Brownsville Station.

Transit users can plan their trip by visiting www.miamidade.gov/transit , or by calling Customer Services, at 305-770-3131 (305-891-3131 south of 216th Street) or 305-654-6530 (for TTY users), and talking to an agent.

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey M. Edmondson (District 3) will hold a press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate this new route on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at 10 a.m., at the Brownsville Metrorail station.
