The Miami-Dade Transit Commuter Challenge Race

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Is the commute by car from South Miami-Dade to downtown Miami faster than the same commute using Miami-Dade Transit?  What are the pros and cons of either?

Commuter Challenge Race will take place next Thursday, May 18, beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m., between commuters driving a car and riding Miami-Dade Transit from South Miami-Dade to the Government Center in downtown Miami.  Commuters will leave a Park-and-Ride lot on the South-Dade Busway, simultaneously, to reach their final destination in downtown Miami.

In Broward County, commuters will board Tri-Rail at the Hollywood station, transfer at the Metrorail Tri-Rail station, and proceed to Government Center.
Simultaneously, a commuter will drive the distance.

This Commuter Challenge Race is a part of the South Florida Commuter Challenge taking place in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties next Thursday where South Floridians are being asked to carpool, vanpool or use public transportation in an effort to ease traffic congestion and save money at the same time.
