Civil Rights and Labor Relations (DBD)
The Office of Civil Rights and Labor Relations develops, implements, and monitors the Transit department's fair employment practices.
Americans with Disabilities Act Compliance
Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended prohibits employment discrimination against “qualified individuals” with disabilities.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises and Contracts Compliance
Miami Dade Transit (MDT) is committed to carry out the DBE Program and to meet the stated objectives, including nondiscrimination in the award and administration of DOT assisted contracts in MDT's transit programs; creating a level playing field on which DBE firms can compete fairly, and ensuring that MDT's DBE Program is narrowly tailored in accordance with applicable law
In addition to representing MDT in labor negotiations between the County and specific labor unions, the Labor Relations unit has the responsibility of monitoring all grievances filed by employees
Employee Disciplinary Action
Coordination with the MDT Office of Civil Rights & Labor Relations is required prior to presentation of all DAR's (disciplinary action reports) or ROC's (records of counseling.)
