Although taxis and other private transportation serve Miami International Airport, many travelers to the Greater Miami area opt to use public transportation to reach local destinations. Always verify hours of operation for each bus route serving the airport (see links below).
At the airport, visit our computerized transit information kiosk anytime in the bus-waiting room at ground level. Before boarding public transit, check the frequently-asked-questions section for local travel details, accessible services, and find out how to reach major tourist attractions. To speak with a transit information agent, call 305-770-3131, weekdays, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; weekends, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If calling from a location in Miami that is south of SW 216th Street, dial 305-891-3131.
Printed Metrobus route maps and schedules can be picked up at the airport's information center in Concourse E. Besides the kiosk, a wall-mounted system map and Tri-Rail schedules are also available in the ground-level waiting room. Tri-Rail, the tri-county commuter train, serves Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Welcome, and enjoy your stay in Miami.
