    Damaged, Lost, and Stolen Passes
If the magnetic strip on the back of the Metropass, Golden Passport, or Patriot Passport is damaged or comes in close contact with a magnet (e.g., magnetically-closed handbags), the fare gate may reject the pass.

If this happens to your Metropass, the security officer at Okeechobee, Civic Center, Government Center, Dadeland North, or Dadeland South station will exchange the pass. A damaged Metropass can also be exchanged at the Transit Service Center at Government Center Metrorail station, second level.

Note: Transit does not replace lost or stolen Metropasses. In addition, registering for more than one transit program offering free rides is prohibited. Violators will be removed from the program(s).

If the magnetic strip on your Golden Passport or Patriot Passport is damaged, get a replacement at any transit service center when surrending the damaged passport.

There is a $10 fee to replace a lost or stolen Golden Passport or Patriot Passport. This fee can be waived if the original police report listing the Golden Passport or Patriot Passport is presented.
