    Douglas Road Metrorail Station

    The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust and Romero Britto, a renowned South Florida artist, have joined forces and created an innovative way for residents to help in the fight against homelessness.

    Colorful parking meters have been designed to collect cash for the homeless in our community and have been placed throughout a number of transit facilities, such as the Douglas Metrorail Station.

    Deep purple and orange “tension arches” are constructed from sheets of cut, stretched, and curved steel. Connected alternately at top and bottom, the steel sheets suggest the forces of rhythm and tension that gave them form.
