Art en Route: "East / West"
    Hand-glazed ceramic tiles, 2003
    Artist: Robert Huff

Miami artist Robert Huff's "East / West" symbolizes the orientation of the Palmetto Metrorail station. Hand-glazed ceramic tiles applied to the platform roof support system in 18 separate sites provide a visual system linked to the change of light and color throughout the day. The departure side of the installation consists of nine separate sites with a color system moving from cool deep blue and blue green to hot yellows and oranges. As passengers move from the entrance to the platform, a visual system reflecting the morning hours greets them. The hot colors of the day and setting sun that progress to cool blues of evening greet returning passengers.
