Metromover is free for all. Most people with disabilities, Medicare recipients, preschoolers, and students in grades K-12 can ride Metrobus and Metrorail at a discount with a Discount Fare EASY Card, which replaces all previous discount IDs and permits.
Miami-Dade County residents who are 65 years and older or Social Security beneficiaries can ride free on transit with the Golden Passport EASY Card.
Honorably dischared United States veterans earning $22,000 or less annually and residing in Miami-Dade ride free with the Patriot Passport EASY Card.

How to obtain a Discount Fare EASY Card
Apply for the Discount Fare EASY Card or the Golden Passport or Patriot Passport EASY Card at the Transit Service Center located on the second level of the Government Center Metrorail station. Register your Discount Fare EASY Card for balance protection by calling the EASY Card Center at 786-469-5151, Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Senior citizens and people with disabilities
Senior citizens who do not reside in Miami-Dade County and disabled riders who qualify can ride on Metrobus and Metrorail at the discount fare with an Discount Fare EASY Card. To obtain a Discount Fare EASY Card, people with disabilities must always provide a doctor's letter indicating the type of disability, medical code and whether that disability is permanent. The Discount Fare EASY Card can be obtained from the Golden Passport booth at the Transit Service Center located on the second level of the Government Center Metrorail station, Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays. Metromover is free for everyone.
Once you obtain your Discount Fare EASY Card, you must load the card with monetary value to ride at half fare whenever you board a bus or train, or with a 1-Month Pass for $50, a 7-Day Pass for $13 or a 1-Day Pass for $2.50. Cards can be loaded and reloaded for up to three years wherever EASY Cards are sold. Always carry a valid ID and proof of eligibility to ride at the discount fare.

Students
To ride Metrobus or Metrorail at the reduced fare, all Miami-Dade County students in grades K-12 will need to obtain an EASY Card issued at schools. Before using an EASY Card, a student will need to add stored (monetary) value to the card to pay the transit fare. EASY Cards can be loaded with up to $150.

Preschoolers
Preschoolers less than 42 inches tall can ride Metrobus and Metrorail free at all times with an accompanying adult. Metromover is free for everyone. Preschoolers taller than 42 inches also ride free but must obtain a specially coded EASY Card, available at the Transit Service Center located on the second level of the Government Center Metrorail station, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., excluding holidays. Parents must provide a photo ID of themselves, the child's birth certificate and the completed application here. The child must be present so his or her picture can be taken.
