(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) is in the process of preparing planning and environmental impact studies for a proposed East-West Corridor in Miami-Dade County. The proposed transit corridor runs from Florida International University (FIU) to the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) at Miami International Airport. The proposed transit alternatives would serve the airport, portions of the City of Miami along State Road 836, the Cities of Sweetwater and Doral, as well as other areas within Miami-Dade County.
As part of this study, two general public meetings (Scoping Meetings) are being planned to inform the public about the scope of the study and have an opportunity to hear community comments and concerns.
The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at 7 p.m., on the campus of Florida International University, Graham Conference Center-Middle Ballroom, 11200 SW 8th Street, Miami, Florida 33199. The second public scoping meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at 7 p.m., in the St. Dominic Gardens Center Hall, 5849 NW 7th Street, Miami, Florida 33126.
The public is invited and welcome to attend at the location which is more convenient. Community input is essential to the success of this transit study.
