Miami-Dade Transit To Host Stations Area Workshop in Sweetwater for the Proposed East-West Corridor Stations Along 107th Avenue

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Transit is in the process of preparing planning and environmental impact studies for a proposed East-West Corridor in Miami-Dade County.  The proposed transit corridor runs from Florida International University to the Miami Intermodal Center at Miami International AirportPDF. The proposed transit alternatives would serve the airport, portions of the city of Miami along State Road 836, the cities of Sweetwater and Doral, as well as other areas within Miami-Dade County.

As part of this study, public meetings have been taking place as part of Miami-Dade Transit’s community outreach efforts to inform and involve the public along the proposed corridor. A new Station Area Workshop is scheduled to provide an opportunity to the community to incorporate their ideas and address their concerns regarding three proposed station options along 107th Avenue, specifically 107th Avenue at Miami International Mall, 107th Avenue at Flagler Street, and 107th Avenue at FIU.

  • The workshop will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2006, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Jorge Mas Canosa Center, 250 SW 114th Avenue, Sweetwater.
  • The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Community input is essential to the success of this transit study.
