The public will have an opportunity to help map the future of public transportation in Miami-Dade County this weekend at a transportation summit hosted by County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and members of the County Commission.
The People’s Transportation Plan summit will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Convention Center at Miami Mart Airport Hotel, 711 NW 72nd Ave. A Continental breakfast and light lunch will be served.
The summit will give the public an opportunity to learn about what the People’s Transportation (PTP) half-penny surtax has accomplished and what challenges and choices the community now faces going forward. Residents will be able to share their ideas with the Mayor, County Commissioners and other civic and local leaders.
Free bus shuttle service will be available, departing at 8 a.m., from the following locations: Golden Glades Park & Ride, Palmetto Metrorail Station, Florida International University (Southwest 107th Avenue and 16th Street), Dadeland North Metrorail station, and in Miami Beach at the corner of Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road. To take advantage of the free shuttle service, call 786-469-5550 or send an email to [email protected].
