Miami-Dade Transit extends Golden Passport and Patriot Passport EASY Card processing hours


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Miami-Dade Transit is extending its Golden Passport and Patriot Passport processing hours to make sure all Golden Passport and Patriot Passport users have their EASY Cards by Thursday, October 1, 2009 - the day MDT will fully implement its new EASY Card fare collection system.

On Saturday, September 26th, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., MDT will have staff available at the Golden Passport and Patriot Passport processing area at the Transit Service Center, located on the second level of the Government Center Metrorail station (101 NW First St., downtown Miami).

And until October 1st, Golden Passport and Patriot Passport weekday processing hours at the Transit Service Center also have been extended from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Beginning October 1st, all Golden Passport and Patriot Passport users must have an EASY Card to use transit in Miami-Dade County.

The EASY Card fare collection system will enhance customer convenience and reduce fare evasion by automatically deducting passenger fares from a reloadable smart card embedded with a computer chip.
