(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- On Thursday, November 19, between 4 and 6 p.m., a Statnamic Load Test will be conducted at the construction site of the future Miami Central Station (NW 25th Street and NW 38th Court - next to the Tri-Rail Station) at the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC).  A second test will be conducted on Saturday, November 21, between 2 and 4 p.m. at the same location.

As part of the construction activities for Miami-Dade Transit's MIC-Earlington Heights Metrorail extension project, the contractor will be performing foundation load tests at several sites along the project corridor.  During this testing, surrounding businesses could experience noise and slight vibration with a small cloud of smoke contained within the testing site which will dissipate within approximately 30 seconds. This testing is done to verify the load-carrying capacity of future foundation sites of the new Metrorail guideway.  No interruption of traffic flow and no sidewalk closures are anticipated. Work activities in this area will be continued after the test without additional disturbances until further advised.  Access to businesses will be maintained at all times.
