Miami-Dade Transit offers additional service to accommodate Calle Ocho event goers


(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- 
Miami-Dade Transit will offer additional service for those attending the 2010 Calle Ocho Festival on Sunday, March 14, 2010.  Also, due to the festival, several Metrobus routes will be detoured.

Metrorail:
Trains will run every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. northbound, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. southbound, followed by the regular Sunday 30-minute frequencies until closing. Four-car trains will be used all day. Parking at Metrorail stations will be free all day on March 14.

Metrobus:
Four additional buses will be added to Route 207 (Little Havana Connection), beginning at 9 a.m., to alleviate potential overcrowding and ensure on-time performance. After 4 p.m., another four buses will be added to the route. Metrorail riders can transfer to Route 207 at the Government Center Station.

Also, from 11 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, until 5 a.m. on Monday, March 15, routes 6, 8, 12, 17, 22, and the Little Havana Connection (routes 207 clockwise and 208 counterclockwise) will be detoured due to the festival.
