Transit officials take to the streets to promote commuter savings

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Starting today, and for the next six to eight weeks, officials with Miami-Dade Transit and South Florida Commuter Services will be visiting local businesses to provide information on transit programs and services that could reduce their employees' commuting costs by more than $100 a month.

The transit teams will visit businesses in the downtown Miami, Brickell, and Civic Center areas. They will present information on MDT's Corporate Discount Program, which allows participants to save on commuting costs through group discounts and pre-tax savings; and on the new I-95 Dade-Broward Express commuter bus route, which provides express service between Broward and Miami-Dade counties via the new I-95 Express lanes. Information also will be provided on the Emergency Ride Home Program, which provides commuters in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, and Saint Lucie counties that carpool, vanpool, ride transit, bike, or walk three or more days a week, with six free taxi cab vouchers a year to use in the event of an unexpected emergency or unscheduled overtime.

For more information on this outreach effort, call 786-469-5420. To schedule a visit from a transit team, call 786-469-5415. To learn more about the Corporate Discount Program, visit Miami-Dade Corporate Discount Program Adobe Reader.
