(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- Unlike previous years, participants of the 2010 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run on Thursday, April 29, 2010 will need to use an EASY Card or EASY Ticket loaded with a pass or monetary value to ride Metrorail.
To avoid long lines, Miami-Dade Transit encourages all event goers to purchase an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to the day of the race. Both are available at EASY Card vending machines located at all Metrorail stations, the Golden Glades Park & Ride lot, the Miami International Airport Metrobus depot, and at EASY Card sales outlets.
Through TeamFootWorks, MDT is offering a special 1-Day Pass for those participating in the Corporate Run. The 1-Day Pass, which is regularly sold for $5, will be loaded on an EASY Ticket and sold at the discounted rate of $2 for event participants. This discounted pass will be available in advance only at TeamFootWorks. To obtain a discounted 1-Day Pass, call TeamFootWorks at 305-666-RACE (7223).
METRORAIL SERVICES
Metrorail service will be provided every 7 to 8 minutes from approximately 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., and every 15 minutes from 6 p.m. until approximately 10 p.m. Service will be adjusted to normal weekday service after the event and until closing. Parking at all Metrorail stations will be free after 3 p.m. on the day of the race.
METROMOVER SERVICES
Additional Metromover service will be provided during the event. Service will be adjusted to normal weekday service after the event.
METROBUS DETOURS
Due to the event, several Metrobus routes, including routes 3, 8, 9, 11, 24, 48, 51 Flagler MAX, 77, 93 Biscayne MAX, B, S, 120 Beach MAX, 95 Express, Dade-Broward 95 Express, and 277 will be detoured on April 29 from approximately 4:30 p.m. until about 11:30 p.m. For more information on the detours, visit MDT's website at www.miamidade.gov/transit.
