Miami-Dade Transit's AirportLink Metrorail extension

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Transit is currently constructing the AirportLink. The following connection changes on Tri-Rail service are necessary in order to safely construct supporting columns for the new elevated Metrorail guideway that is in the area near the existing train tracks.

Temporary bus connection to and from Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station, Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station, and Miami International Airport Terminal
Starting today and through Sunday, February 27, 2011, passengers will be transported via Metrobus to and from the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station, Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station, and Miami International Airport Terminal for the last southbound train on Friday and Saturday nights and the first northbound train on Saturday and Sunday mornings.   Below are the specified times.

  • Friday and Saturday Nights: Passengers traveling southbound to the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station and the Miami International Airport Terminal will be transported via Metrobus from the Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station to the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station and the airport. This service will be conducted for the last southbound train arriving at 10:29 p.m. on Friday nights, and 10:09 p.m. on Saturday nights at the Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station.
  • Saturday and Sunday Mornings: Passengers wishing to travel northbound from the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station will be transported via Metrobus from both the Tri-Rail Miami Airport Station and the Miami International Airport Terminal to the Tri-Rail Hialeah Market Station for the first northbound train departing at 6:03 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The above information is subject to change if the contractor's schedule is altered due to unforeseen circumstances.  For more information, please refer to the contact name listed above.

The AirportLink project is a 2.4-mile elevated Metrorail extension from the existing Earlington Heights Metrorail Station to the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) next to Miami International Airport. This vital project will provide a reliable Metrorail connection to the airport for the millions of residents, visitors and employees who travel to and from MIA every year. The project also will provide a boost to the local economy by creating jobs and facilitating work-related travel and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
