Special traffic advisory on construction of
Miami-Dade Transit's AirportLink Metrorail extension

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Transit is currently constructing the AirportLink.  The following ramp and lane closures are necessary in order to perform this activity. Look for detour signs guiding motorists to use alternate routes.

EXTENDED:  Temporary lane closures on westbound SR 112/Airport Expressway
Starting Tuesday, February 8, 2011, through Friday, February 18, 2011, traffic will be reduced to one lane on westbound SR 112 between NW 27th Avenue and NW 42nd Avenue/LeJeune Road from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.  All lanes will reopen at 5:30 a.m. each morning. This closure was originally scheduled from Monday, January 10, 2011, through Tuesday, February 8, 2011.

EXTENDED:  One-week closure of SR 112/Airport Expressway westbound exit ramp to NW 27th Avenue
From now until Friday, February 4, 2011, the SR 112 westbound exit ramp to NW 27th Avenue will be temporarily closed 24 hours a day.  Motorists wishing to access NW 27th Avenue from SR 112 westbound will be directed to take the exit ramp to NW 22nd Avenue, which leads to NW 41st Street westbound.  They will need to continue west on NW 41st Street to reach NW 27th Avenue.  This closure was originally scheduled from Monday, November 29, 2010, through Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

The above information is subject to change if the contractor's schedule is altered due to unforeseen circumstances.  For more information, please refer to the contact name listed above.

The AirportLink project is a 2.4-mile elevated Metrorail extension from the existing Earlington Heights Metrorail Station to the MIC next to Miami International Airport. This vital project will provide a reliable Metrorail connection to the airport for the millions of residents, visitors and employees who travel to and from MIA every year. The project also will provide a boost to the local economy by creating jobs and facilitating work-related travel and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
