Transit service extended for Ultra Music Festival 2011

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Transit will extend its Metrorail and Metromover service to accommodate the large crowds expected to attend the 2011 Ultra Music Festival in downtown Miami taking place Friday, March 25, Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27, 2011.

Metrorail and Metromover service will be extended as follows:

Metrorail:

  • Southbound departures from the Government Center Station will be at approximately 12:53 a.m., 1:23 a.m. and 1:53 a.m.
  • Northbound departures from the Government Center Station will be at approximately 12:49 a.m., 1:19 a.m. and 1:49 a.m.

Metromover:

  • Metromover service will continue until the last Metrorail trains depart the Government Center Station.

To avoid long lines at the ticket vending machines at Metrorail stations, MDT is encouraging all Ultra Music Festival goers to purchase and load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to the event. Both are available at EASY Card ticket vending machines located at all Metrorail stations, at the Golden Glades Park & Ride lot, the Miami International Airport Metrobus depot, and at more than 75 EASY Card sales outlets located throughout Miami-Dade County.

Metromover is free for everyone.

For more information on how to obtain an EASY Card or EASY Ticket, or about transit schedules, event goers can visit www.miamidade.gov/transit, or call 305-891-3131, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. TTY users can call 305-499-8971.
