Transit service extended for Goombay Festival and NBA Nation taking place this weekend

(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Miami-Dade Transit is extending Metrorail service to accommodate those attending the Goombay Festival and the NBA Nation event taking place in Coconut Grove this Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th.

Metrorail:

  • Metrorail will increase frequency to run every 15 minutes from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on both Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th.

Metrobus:

  • Bus routes 37 and 249 will also be detoured due to these events. Log on to www.miamidade.gov/transit or call 3-1-1 for more detailed information about these detours.

To avoid long lines at the ticket vending machines at Metrorail stations, MDT is encouraging all transit riders to purchase and load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to these events. Both are available at EASY Card ticket vending machines located at all Metrorail stations, and at more than 75 EASY Card sales outlets located throughout Miami-Dade County, among other locations. Metromover is free for everyone.

For more information on how to obtain an EASY Card or EASY Ticket, or about transit schedules, transit riders can visit www.miamidade.gov/transit, or call 305-891-3131, Monday-Friday, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. TTY users can call 305-499-8971.
