(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- In an effort to accommodate the ever-growing number of commuters who are making the money-saving choice to become public transportation customers, Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) has opened a new Park & Ride Lot and Bus Shelter at Miami Gardens Drive and NW 73 Avenue.
Completed June 1, 2011, this new lot has 136 FREE parking spaces available for transit customers, as well as bicycle racks. Bus routes 73, 99, 183 Local and 286 North Pointe Circulator will serve the new Miami Gardens Drive Park & Ride Lot.
Riding transit, especially as the price of gas continues to fluctuate, can save a person hundreds of dollars a year, when compared to the cost of gasoline, car insurance, maintenance and other expenses related to car ownership and use. Those who ride transit are not only making the environmentally sound choice, but are also helping reduce our nationwide dependence on oil.
