(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
In an effort to inspire and educate our community about Miami's rich Hispanic and Latin American legacy, Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) is hosting two Hispanic Heritage tours on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
MDT will provide two tours, one at 9:00 a.m. in Spanish and the other at 9:30 a.m. in English, departing from downtown Miami's Stephen P. Clark Center (111 NW First Street).
These free, narrated three-hour tours are offered in comfortable MDT buses and include visits to such iconic sites as the Miami Sanctuary of Our Lady of Charity ("La Ermita de la Caridad") and Miami's Historic Little Havana neighborhood.
This is the 11th year that MDT hosts the award-winning Hispanic Heritage Tours.
"Going on these tours is almost like time traveling to the past and understanding exactly how Hispanic culture has shaped the Miami-Dade we know and love today," said Chairman Martinez "Our Transit Department does an excellent job every year of offering riders a different perspective of their hometown."
To reserve a seat, please call 786-469-5383. The buses fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot today.
