Miami-Dade Transit will provide bus shuttle service between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail Stations on Sunday, June 24

Free bus shuttle service will be available from 5 a.m. until midnight on Sunday


Due to Orange Line preparations, trains between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre stations will not be running on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Please see diagram below.

Two kinds of free shuttle bus service will be provided. One will be an express shuttle traveling directly between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre stations.

The other shuttle will be a Route 100 bus that will be making stops at all the stations between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre stations: Brownsville, Earlington Heights, Allapattah, Santa Clara, Civic Center, Culmer stations.

There also will be Marlins shuttle buses departing from the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre stations for passengers going to the Marlins Park.

We encourage patrons to plan their commute carefully on Sunday, June 24, 2012 and allow for extra travel time to reach their destinations. We also encourage patrons to read the signs that will be posted at each station to ensure they get to their intended destination. In addition, there will be Transit Supervisors located at both Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stations directing passengers.

Patrons traveling southbound will need to exit at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. station, where they can board the Express shuttle, which will take them directly to Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre, or they can board the Route 100 bus which will take them to all the other stations.

If their desired destination is northbound, passengers will need to exit at Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre station, where they can board the Express shuttle, which will take them directly to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. station, or they can board the Route 100 bus which will take them to all the other stations.
