Miami-Dade Transit's 4th of July Schedule

Miami-Dade Transit wants its patrons to be aware that on Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4, 2012, MDT will operate on a Sunday schedule.  Therefore, service hours are as follows:

METROBUS: All bus routes will run on a Sunday schedule. This means that weekday routes, such as the I-95 Express and the Kendall Cruiser, will not provide service on Wednesday, July 4th.

METRORAIL: Metrorail will operate a Sunday schedule, with trains arriving at approximately every 30 minutes. However, MDT will provide additional train trips after the fireworks celebrations in downtown Miami to accommodate the large crowds taking transit on their return trip home.

METROMOVER: Metromover also will operate a Sunday schedule. Metromover is free for everyone.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES: All MDT administrative offices, including those for Golden Passport and Special Transportation Service (STS), will be closed. However, STS customers can still call the STS reservation number (305-264-9000) to reserve or cancel an STS trip.

Miami-Dade Transit wants to encourage those attending the 4th of July celebrations in downtown Miami to use transit to reach their destination. Aside from providing extra train trips after the fireworks celebrations, MDT is also enhancing service on three Miami Beach routes (C, S, and 120 Beach MAX), to accommodate those taking transit that evening.

To avoid long lines at EASY Card ticket vending machines, MDT encourages all event goers to load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to taking transit on July 4th. Transit riders are encouraged to load at least $4 on an EASY Card or EASY Ticket for their round trip, and an additional $4 if parking at Metrorail stations. Riders are reminded that a 1-Day Pass, which costs $5 is good for one calendar day and expires at 2 a.m. the following day.
For more information, visit www.miamidade.gov/transit (on mobile devices, www.miamidade.gov/transit/mobile); or call 3-1-1, Monday - Friday, from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m., and on Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Closed on Sundays and during County-observed holidays.

It is the policy of Miami Dade County to comply with all of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The facility is accessible. For sign language interpreters, assistive listening devices or materials in accessible format, please call at least five days in advance.
