Metrorail stations to offer HIV testing during 'Take the Train...Take the Test' event


In observance of World AIDS Day, on Friday, November 30, 2012, between noon and 6 p.m., free HIV testing will be offered to the public at nine Metrorail stations. This rapid HIV testing is being provided by the “TAKE the TRAIN…TAKE the TEST” event.

 Miami-Dade Transit has partnered with the Miami-Dade County Health Department, STD/HIV Prevention and Control Program, 3-1-1, the Office of Community Advocacy, and the Board of County Commissioners to provide HIV testing.

 The “TAKE the TRAIN…TAKE the TEST” event is free and open to the public, with test results available in as little as 20 minutes. Counseling will also be available on-site.

 The HIV testing will be available at the following Metrorail stations:

University; Douglas Road; Coconut Grove; Government Center; Allapattah; Earlington Heights; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza; Northside and Hialeah.
