(MIAMI, Dec. 15, 2012) – Beginning Monday, December 17, 2012, Miami-Dade Transit’s Rider Alert System will be upgraded. The upgrade will make it easier for users to sign up and manage their accounts. As part of the upgrade, however, registered users will need to re-enroll to continue receiving the alert messages.
During the transition to the upgraded system, MDT will not be transmitting alert messages to its subscribers.
Those who are registered to receive alert messages should visit MDT’s webpage: www.miamidade.gov/transit/rider-alert-temp.asp to view information on the status of the upgraded Rider Alert system. Here, users also can learn how and when to re-enroll on the new system.
Once the upgrade is complete, those re-enrolled will continue to receive transit alerts according to their preferred options.
The Rider Alert system allows registered users to receive transit-related alerts in case of service disruptions or delays that could affect the users’ transit commute.
Those who enroll to receive alert messages should be aware that standard message and data rates may apply to each text message sent or received, and other charges may apply as defined in the user’s wireless-service rate plan.
