Miami-Dade Transit Metrorail to provide Single Tracking this weekend

Track improvements will take place Saturday and Sunday


(MIAMI, January 3, 2013) – In order to improve the Metrorail system and make your commute more efficient, MDT is performing scheduled maintenance and making necessary improvements to the Metrorail tracks from Saturday, January 5th to Sunday, January 6, 2013

 During this weekend, Metrorail will perform single tracking between Earlington Heights and Culmer stations. Single tracking means that southbound and northbound train’s alternate trips on the same track while maintenance and improvements are being made to the opposite track.

 Orange and Green Line trains will arrive every 35 minutes during the weekend.

MDT encourages passengers to plan their commute carefully this Saturday and Sunday and allow for extra travel time to reach their destinations.
