Miami-Dade Transit will run a Sunday Schedule for 4th of July

(MIAMI, July 3, 2013) – On Thursday, July 4, 2013 - Independence Day - Miami-Dade Transit will operate a Sunday schedule.

METRORAIL: Metrorail, which operates from 5 a.m. until 12 midnight daily, will also operate a Sunday schedule.

Miami-Dade Transit encourages passengers to be on the platform following the festivities in downtown Miami in order to board the last train, which will leave the Government Center station at midnight.

Those Metrorail stations located between Dadeland South and Earlington Heights, which are served by both the Orange and Green lines, will have service every 15 minutes. Passengers headed to MIA on the Orange Line, and those traveling on the Green Line north of Earlington Heights, will have Metrorail service every 30 minutes.

METROBUS: All bus routes will run on a Sunday schedule. Therefore weekday routes, such as the I-95 Express and the Kendall Cruiser, will not provide service on Thursday, July 4th. Please refer to www.miamidade.gov/transit for scheduling information about a specific Metrobus route.

METROMOVER: Metromover, which is free for everyone and operates from 5 a.m. to 12 midnight daily, will also run on a Sunday schedule.

Miami-Dade Transit wants to encourage those attending 4th of July celebrations in downtown Miami to use transit to reach their destination.   To avoid long lines at EASY Card ticket vending machines, MDT encourages all event goers to load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to taking transit on July 4th.
