(MIAMI, October 31, 2013) – On Saturday, November 2, 2013, and Sunday, November 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Redland Tropical Gardens will present the Tropical Cornucopia Farm and Garden Show in Historic Downtown Homestead.
The event is part of Viva Florida 500 and celebrates "La Florida," the Land of Flowers. Gardens Galore is promoting the state’s rich natural heritage of the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks, as well as the diverse cultural, horticultural, and agricultural bounty of its land. There will be ten world-class garden designs, a children’s fantasy garden, a green marketplace, and more.
Participants are encouraged to “go green” and travel to the event using transit. Transit riders can take Metrorail and exit at the Dadeland South Metrorail station. There, they simply transfer to Metrobus Route 38 Busway MAX, which travels on the South Miami-Dade Busway, and exit at the NE 2nd Dr. stop in Homestead. The Tropical Cornucopia event is located near the entrance of the Miami-Dade College Homestead Campus.
“To reach and enjoy this showcase event, what’s a better way to get there than by taking transit,” said Miami-Dade Transit Director Ysela Llort. “Transit is convenient, affordable, and the ‘green way’ to go as it helps reduce the number of cars on the road.”
As part of this event, the City of Homestead will be promoting tours to the National Parks throughout the two days.
