Eighth Street Metromover Station Closing for Improvements until Summer 2015

(MIAMI, August 11, 2014) – The Eighth Street Metromover station, on the Brickell Loop, will be closed for improvements from the end of regular service hours on Friday, August 15, 2014, until summer 2015. Metromover trains will bypass the Eighth Street Station, but will serve all other stations on the Brickell Loop.

The improvements to the Eighth Street Station  include updates to better access the station from the ground, a new elevator, a new escalator, new stairs (on the north end of the station), new third-level access for adjacent construction, security improvements and miscellaneous updates.

During the time that the station is closed, patrons should board or exit Metromover at Fifth Street or Tenth Street Promenade station.
